REFUGEE SKEPTIC TO ASSUME KEY ROLE ON MIGRATION ISSUES AT STATE DEPARTMENT
July 26, 2018
Zadrozny worked in the White House shop that reported to Miller, Trump’s virulently anti-immigration advisor who is considered the chief architect behind some of the administration’s most controversial policies. Miller advised Trump on his travel ban executive order and policy of separating parents and children trying to cross into the United States.
Zadrozny is also close to Andrew Veprek, the deputy assistant secretary of state for the embattled refugee bureau, according to former officials. Veprek has most recently come under fire for pushing to soften language on a United Nations resolution condemning racism, first reported by CNN.
FEDERAL WATCHDOGS TARGET BULLYING, RETALIATION AT STATE DEPARTMENT

Stull, a former food lobbyist who wrote a wine blog under the pseudonym “Vino Vixen,” is part of an informal network of political appointees who five State Department officials say constitute a parallel power structure in the State Department to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, which seeks to inject the president’s domestic policy agenda into foreign affairs.
Many in the network are linked to Stephen Miller, an influential senior advisor to the president who oversees the Domestic Policy Council at the White House. They include Andrew Veprek, a foreign service officer who served under Miller in White House; John Zadrozny, another former Miller aide who now works in State’s policy planning bureau; and Bethany Kozma at the U.S. Agency for International Development.
STEPHEN MILLER ALLY EXPECTED TO JOIN KEN CUCCINELLI AT USCIS
June 13, 2019
Before joining the Trump administration, Zadrozny worked as counsel to Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and for the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, according to a LinkedIn page. In 2009, he worked as legislative counsel for the Federation for American Immigration Reform, a group that backs lower levels of immigration.
"Not only does John Zadrozny have extensive immigration experience in the Senate, White House, and State Department," said R.J. Hauman, government relations director at FAIR, "but he’s a firm believer in the administration’s agenda. He’ll be a fantastic addition at USCIS under Ken Cuccinelli.”
The Southern Poverty Law Center, a hate group watchdog, considers FAIR a hate group because of “virulent and false attacks on non-white immigrants.” A spokesperson for FAIR said SPLC’s allegation should not be trusted because the group has become “a partisan attack dog.”
VEGA MOVES TO APPOINT TRUMP IMMIGRATION OFFICIAL TO LOCAL JAIL BOARD
January 16, 2020
Zadrozny served as special assistant to President Donald Trump on the White House Domestic Policy Council from 2017 until 2019. He joined the state department in July 2019 and now works under USCIS acting Director Ken Cuccinelli.
The White House Domestic Policy Council aided in scaling back the number of U.S. refugee admissions to record lows during the first two years of the Trump’s presidency. In July 2019, Zadrozny reportedly proposed slashing the number of U.S. refugee admissions to zero.
Vega said in an email Wednesday that Zadrozny was recommended to her by a private citizen as someone who was willing to serve on the jail board and wanted to keep the county’s 287(g) agreement in place. But said she was unaware of his connections to the Trump administration.
INSIDE STEPHEN MILLER’S HOSTILE TAKEOVER OF IMMIGRATION POLICY
August 29, 2018
Zadrozny worked for the Domestic Policy Council but recently moved to the State Department — an institution Miller views with deep suspicion — to serve on the Policy Planning Staff. He previously worked for the Federation for American Immigration Reform, a stridently anti-immigration group.

TRUMP OFFICIALS PRESSING TO SLASH REFUGEE ADMISSIONS TO ZERO NEXT YEAR
July 18, 2019
The presence of Zadrozny and Veprek in the refugee cap negotiations speaks to the influence of Miller over the Trump administration’s immigration agenda. Both are viewed as proxies for the president’s hard-line adviser.
